U.S. Destroys 92% of Iran's Major Naval Vessels | DISCUSS

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) released declassified footage showing precision strikes on Iranian naval assets, declaring that Iran's ability to "harass global shipping" has been effectively dismantled.

The announcement, made by CENTCOM Chief Admiral Brad Cooper, marks a turning point in Operation Epic Fury, which began exactly one month ago on February 28.

The Destruction of the Iranian Navy

The U.S. military reported a near-total neutralization of Iran’s surface and sub-surface capabilities:

92% Neutralized: CENTCOM assesses that 92% of the Iranian Navy’s largest vessels have been destroyed or rendered inoperable. This includes major warships that have roamed regional waters for decades.

Total Losses: To date, approximately 140 Iranian naval vessels have been hit during the month-long campaign.

No More Command: The strike follows the confirmed death of the IRGC Navy Commander, Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, in an Israeli airstrike on Bandar Abbas earlier this week. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth bluntly noted: "So no navy, no navy leader".

Video Proof: "Negotiating with Bombs"

The released footage showed a coordinated multi-domain assault:

Carrier Operations: Fighter jets launching from the USS Gerald R. Ford and USS Abraham Lincoln to conduct precision strikes.

Close Air Support: A-10 Warthogs and Apache helicopters were filmed flying "at will" inside Iranian airspace and over the Strait of Hormuz, a move Hegseth says is only possible because Iran has "no meaningful air defenses left".

Marine Industries Hit: Overnight, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) separately bombed the headquarters of Iran’s Marine Industries Organization (MIO) in Tehran, the facility responsible for producing Iran’s advanced naval weapons and unmanned surface vessels.
