On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the organizers of the Wireless Festival officially announced the cancellation of this year's event.
The festival, which was scheduled to take place at London's Finsbury Park from July 10–12, was set to be Ye’s first UK performance in over a decade.
The Home Office Ban
The UK government revoked Ye's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) on the grounds that his presence in the country would not be "conducive to the public good".
Reasoning: Officials cited the rapper's history of antisemitic rhetoric and past praise for Adolf Hitler as the primary reasons for the exclusion.
Political Pressure: Prime Minister Keir Starmer and various Jewish community groups had called the booking "deeply concerning".
Ye's Response: Shortly before the ban was finalized, Ye issued a statement expressing a desire to "meet and listen" to members of the UK's Jewish community to show "change through his actions," but authorities deemed the gesture "too little, too late".
Sponsor Exodus and Financial Fallout
Even before the official government ban, the festival faced a catastrophic loss of corporate support:
Major Withdrawals: Global brands including Pepsi, Diageo (Johnnie Walker, Captain Morgan), Rockstar Energy, and PayPal pulled their sponsorships within 48 hours of Ye being announced as the sole headliner.
Organizers' Stance: Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn initially defended the booking, arguing the festival was providing a stage for music rather than a platform for "extolling opinions".
